Follow the ancient route of the Native American Penobscot and Micmac tribes as they journey from interior Maine to the coast to feast on shellfish during the summer months. Once they cross the Eggmoggin Reach to Deer Isle you will join a guided kayak group to paddle their path across the archipelago that makes up Deer Isle. Your guide will be Archeologist William Haviland who has written extensively on the historical Native American presence here and Dana and Anne Douglass owners of Granite Island Tours. |
